Out-of-School Time: Driving Quality and Access
High-quality out-of-school time programs are crucial to a child’s ability to grow, thrive, and succeed. That’s why Allies for Children advocates for increased funding, high standards, and better partnerships for these programs. We also encourage strong partnerships between school districts and high quality out-of-school time programs throughout the community.
Early Learning: The First Step
To strengthen early learning and out-of-school time programs, we work closely with Allegheny County’s Department of Children’s Initiatives, a countywide office formed following a working group’s recommendations.
Teen Mental Health: Providing Emotional Support
Allies for Children serves on the Teen Mental Health Collaborative working with community organizations, including out-of-school time programs, to promote teen mental health.
